Welcome Message from the Chairman of The Arts Society - Woking

It has been a challenging couple of years since I took over as Chairman in November 2020. We have successfully changed location to Normandy Village Hall (GU3 2DT) and recovered from the Covid experience by restarting live talks.
Visits planned this year include a walking tour of Brookwood Cemetery (a.m.19th April), a day trip to Sissinghurst and Hever Castle (21st June) and an extended tour to Cardiff and the Wye Valley - 24th-28th September (see Visits tab for details).
We warmly welcome new members. If you would like to come to one of our talks - the first one is free - or need more information please contact our Membership Secretary, Jo Pay on memdfas@gmail.com or give her a call on 01276 685293. Guests are welcome for a small donation (suggested £5).
Our prime objective is to bring people together through a shared curiosity for the arts.
We offer:
TALKS - 10 per year (apart from July and August). You can bring up to two guests for a small donation. Hear expert speakers share their specialist knowledge about the arts
VISITS - we arrange outings to places of interest including one extended tour in the UK or Europe every year
SPECIAL INTEREST DAYS - special study days are available via the West Surrey Area team
SUPPORT FOR THE ARTS - we partner with Watts Gallery in Compton to support their Watts Academy with a focus on Young Arts
LEARNING - you will receive a quarterly magazine from The Arts Society and (optional) monthly articles via e mail
The annual subscription for the Talks Programme is £50 and is allowable for Gift Aid for UK taxpayers. Visits and Special Interest Days are provided at an additional cost.
You can find out more about our various activities by clicking on the tabs at the top of this page.
As well as widening our knowledge of the Arts we do try to brighten up our days in challenging times!
I look forward to meeting you at one of our talks.
